Travel within NZ is allowed at every traffic light setting. We recommend reviewing the latest recommendations and restrictions guidance on the Government Covid-19 site.
Guests can stay at Holiday Houses properties at all traffic light settings. Owners can require My Vaccine Pass. You must let your guests know in advance if this is required at your property.
At any traffic light setting, do not travel or meet with guests, if:
- You're symptomatic.
- You've been to a listed location of interest.
- You're a close contact of a positive case.
- You're awaiting a test result (other than routine surveillance testing).
- You need to self-isolate.
What if my guest can't travel?
Guests may get in touch to let you know they're no longer able to travel. You can chat about cancelling, or moving their stay to a later date – whatever works best for you both.
You can change or cancel their booking and process any refunds from your end online. If they've been charged a $75 Holiday Houses cancellation fee, they'll need to get in touch so we can refund this.
Do I need to refund my guest if they can't travel?
We strongly encourage all property owners to refund guests who can't travel due to Government-imposed restrictions, or public health orders (such as self-isolation).
Check out our COVID-19 cancellation policy.
What if my guest needs to self-isolate during their stay?
If your guest has been ordered to isolate and needs to extend their stay, they'll reach out to you. If you need to extend their stay, you can extend their booking online.
What if the traffic light settings change before an upcoming booking?
Bookings can go ahead at all traffic light settings. Owners can choose to require My Vaccine Pass for guests, depending on the current traffic light setting. Just make sure these requirements are clear to guests before their stay.
